NYFW, Are you Ready?

Every fashionista’s playground is open for fun starting Thursday.  I’m talking New York Fashion Week ladies and gentleman!!  Are you ready?? You know they never play fair at the playground, so make sure you are prepared and bring your A game!

Do you have your invitations?  If so, proceed to the attire section, girl you are in for a treat! If not, we have our work cut out for us!

As a future reference for all up and coming bloggers and fashion enthusiast, invitations are your “golden ticket” to the shows. The majority of the shows and fashion parties during New York Fashion Week are “invitation only”.  How to get an invitation you ask?

  1. Create a list of designer shows you would like to attend
  2. Request an invitation via email (email the PR for the designer, if applicable)
  3. Await Response
  4. Repeat steps 1-3

If those steps aren’t getting you the desired results, I suggest going on Eventbrite and searching local fashion shows in New York that feature independent designers on the rise. I recommend the Nolcha Shows.

If you are determined to attend a certain show without an invitation in hand, our last suggestion would be to finesse.  Approach the front of that line with confidence, style, and purpose! The “gate keeper” must be convinced that you are DESTINED to witness that show first hand!

Good Luck!

What are you wearing?? Like seriously, you must figure this out between now and Thursday morning. After Thursday, it will be the best blur of your life, so get prepared now.

  1. Identify a minimum of 20 styles that can be interchangeable
  2. Staples and statement pieces! NYFW is all about making a statement. Revealing who you are without having to utter a word. Your personality will reign through your attire.  Interchanging statement pieces with staples keeps your look well balanced.  For example, leather leggings (staple), black bodysuit (staple), and a neon fur (statement) draped across the shoulder. Not too little and just enough!

The streets are watching, and you are here to give them a show.

I mean it’s only right you stay in style as well. It’s NYFW, the experience will encompass your whole being!! Translation, everything you do that week will be fashion forward and encompassed with luxury elements honey!  If you haven’t made your hotel or restaurant accommodations by now, GET ON IT!  . Our favorite spots to dine and stay are below.
